Yoga

To find out when you can join one of Sterre’s classes or another event, simply browse the calendar. She is looking forward to welcome you there!

Sterre is a passionate yogi who has been teaching classes weekly since 2010 as well as workshops and retreats. She offers meditation, Hatha- and Vinyasa yoga experiences. Still fascinated by the profound and positive effects of this ancient method on the physical-, mental- and spiritual level, she jokes sometimes saying “If everybody would do yoga, I would have only half the amount of clients in psychotherapy!”

She herself discovered the healing power of yoga in Australia back in 2007. Whilst facing some stressful academic challenges and a surf injury it helped her to stay sane and heal. Consciously working with the body felt like coming home because of Sterre’s background in dance. Yet, yoga revealed to bring so much more; Peace of mind, a certain lightness, purpose and a stronger connection to (her) nature. Yoga practice has been part of her life ever since.

Sterre explored various yoga styles, completed the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta teacher training (200-hours) in France and started her teaching journey in 2010 at Yoga Kamala in Amsterdam. She deepened her teaching skills and understanding of yogic philosophy during the well-respected teacher training of Svaha Yoga Amsterdam (500-hours). Sterre keeps learning by joining retreats and workshops with internationally renown senior-teachers herself. She is an avid practitioner of Iyengar Yoga, yet she likes many styles and loves to flow as well. Since 2014 Sterre has been teaching locally at Scheveningen beach for Yogaseads and since 2019 also for Delight Yoga Den Haag. In 2018 she went on a pelgrimage to India where she explored many sacred and significant sites allover this magical subcontinent. From high up in the Himalayas to the jungles and beaches down South… Sterre immersed herself in the historical and cultural context of yoga, there where it all began.

Her classes offer a holistic yoga-blend in which the spiritual element does not compromise the physical challenge. Sterre guides her students with clear instructions, hands-on adjustments and music (‘Nada Yoga’, the yoga of sound).
